The HÜBNER Group has commissioned a new elastomer products compounding plant at its Nyíregyháza site in Hungary.
The new plant is fully digitalized and is run using state-of-the-art software controlled remotely from the company’s headquarters in Kassel. The new plant will allow further adoption of sustainable materials and operations.

Since the outbreak of the Corona virus in China in January, HÜBNER has had to temporarily close and restart production facilities all over the world, secure or postpone production processes and deal with changing customer requests for delivery or non-delivery. After China came India and Malaysia, then Europe and North America, and finally Brazil and South Africa.
Production is now running at full speed again in China and Russia, however, demand in the USA is still significantly weaker. In Brazil, India and South Africa there is currently very little activity.
Despite these issues HÜBNER's MD, Helge Förster, is convinced that the mobility market will remain a growth market in the long term. HÜBNER have introduced a driver protection system that protects local transport operators from Corona,and the company is also currently working on new antiviral surfaces for use in public transport.
HÜBNER Group: Selling Automotive Segment to Gotec Link...
HÜBNER will be divesting its automotive segment as of 1 April 2020. The business with injection-molded plastic components will be sold to the automotive supplier GOTEC Gorschlüter GmbH located in Wülfrath, Germany, close to Wuppertal. GOTEC is the world’s leading specialist for coating with rubber-metal adhesion promoters. The HÜBNER segment that will now be transferred to GOTEC includes the production of auto-body parts, car key shells, keypads and accelerator pedals. In the automotive segment HÜBNER was mainly active as a contract manufacturer.
The HÜBNER Group is continuing with the restructuring and reorientation of its Material Solutions business segment concentrating on innovative, technologically sophisticated industries and markets. This is being done by providing high-quality technical solutions that make use of plastics, composite materials and elastomers such as rubber and silicones together with increasing use of sensor systems.
The company's aim is to consolidate its leading market position in the area of door safety and sealing systems for public transport applications. In addition there will be focus on the oil and gas industry, aviation industry and healthcare material Solutions.

The HÜBNER Group has acquired the GWU Group strenthening its Material Solutions division. Headquartered in Neu-Ulm. GWU employs more than 500 people throughout Europe and has five locations in Germany (Neu-Ulm, Schifferstadt, Hennigsdorf), Poland and Turkey. HÜBNER is a leader in elastomer sealing systems for rail vehicle doors and windows, GWU has a similar market position in the bus industry.

HÜBNER is expanding in the USA after securing a major order to supply the New York Cisty Subway with gangway systemts. The group is planing to build a new factory in Dunlap, Tennessee. The facility in Dunlap, not far from Tennessee’s borders to Georgia and South Carolina, will produce all of the elastomer molded parts, silicone seals as well as sensor-equipped rubber profiles for the rapidly expanding U.S. bus and train industries from 2020 onwards. The HÜBNER Group has set itself the goal of becoming the worldwide market leader for door sealing and safety systems in the railway and bus segments – already having the largest market share for these segments throughout Europe. In addition, the new location will also supply the U.S. oil and gas industry with various sealing systems.
